Emblematiq's straight up

Emblematiq - Frequently Asked Questions

questions? answers!

Are you currently available for contract work?

Short answer: Yes, I am.

Long answer: I try and carefully schedule each project so that I can be sure an adequate amount of time is allocated to it. However, in the real world, there may come periods of time when I will not be able to take on new projects immediately. That is why it is always good practice to try and schedule these things as much in advance as possible.

Why work with Emblematiq?

Experience: In over a decade of doing this, I have encountered quite a large amount of unique situations so, when it comes to design, I tend to know a lot about a lot of things. That is why I can generally provide a multi-talented approach without the hassle of having to hire a full team.

Personal commitment: Emblematiq is just me. There is no management layer between me and my clients and that makes it a lot easier to communicate and properly go over all the small details of the project.

Speed: You want it done right and fast. I work hard because it is, first of all, my passion. I hate lengthy paperwork and long meetings as much as anyone else so that is why I try and make this whole process as straight forward and hassle free as possible.

Results: Getting what you want and more, right when you want it. I guess that matters too.

Why work with someone else?

I am not a jack of all trades: There are some things such as extensive programming or Flash development in which I do not excel. While I can sometimes recommend one of my collaborators, I will not be personally handling those type of jobs.

I am just one person: If you need an entire Amazon-like site ready from scratch in just two weeks, I am probably not the perfect match for the job and you would be better off hiring a full team to do it.

How much does it cost?

It depends. I am not offering nor do I believe in cookie-cutter solutions. That is why each individual project comes with a fully customized approach depending on its exact requirements and specifications. One thing can be certain though: you will not be charged an arm and a leg. Although it pays the bills, I am not doing this just to make money; I am doing it because I am genuinely motivated by creating quality solutions that will benefit both my clients and their users.

To give you a general idea, a typical web design project will start from around $3,000 and that includes everything from the initial discovery phase, to the analysis and improvement of any existing informational architecture, and from the design concepts to the final deliverables.

What if we need you further?

I have been working as an independent designer for the last 5 years now so I am not going anywhere. I am actually maintaining working relationships with most of my previous clients and will be there to assist with any potential future design tasks beyond the scope of the original collaboration.

Would you be interested in a full-time opportunity?

I have been offered plenty of such opportunities in the past but, for various reasons, chose to decline. I value my independence quite a bit but, as the saying goes, in life you never know. If you have something in mind I would definitely be interested in finding out more details and see how things go.
