After almost 4 years of freelance work under the name badboy.media.design, the time for a change is finally here. Individuals evolve at a much faster rate than regular companies with multiple employees, so it's that more important for one's personal brand to keep up with these changes. When I initially started out, I still had a full time job and badboy.media.design was simply an outlet for a little on and off moonlighting. Over the years, it turned into a full time endeavor, a completely developed one man design studio, with clients from four different continents. I would also like to think that I've grown a lot as an individual and as a professional during this time, as well. The name badboy.media.design simply wasn't the best representation of me and my business anymore.
Emblematiq is the result of this four year evolution. It is the more professional and mature version of badboy.media.design. It is the visual representation of the philosophy behind it: "Think. Design. Interact. Amaze".
The new website still keeps certain aspects reminiscent of the old design(s). As a side note, the previous versions of the badboy.media.design site are still accessible and archived as v1 and v2. In the words of Cameron Moll:
"Good designers redesign, great designers realign" (link)
There are still a few aspects that I am not completely satisfied with, as when it comes to my work, "good enough" is never good enough for me, but those will be gradually addressed in the near future. I am also planning a more detailed write up on this redesign, including my experience with Expression Engine, which is now running under the hood. If there are any particular aspects that you would like more details on, plese let me know in the comments. Evidently, I would love to hear your first impressions as well.
In terms of content, I made a pledge to restart the old resources section, now as The Weekly WWW. I've also promised myself that I will try and write much more often blog posts from now on. If I won't always be able to do that, at least I'll post some of my photos. For all those following the Niceforms project, I have some good news: now there is a dedicated Niceforms page, a new version is on the way, as well as more in-depth documentation.
I guess this is "Hello world!" once again. Enjoy your stay, update your bookmarks and RSS feeds, and do please consider Emblematiq for your next design projects. My contact page is always open.
Well, I like the changes you made. Altough some words are difficult to read on my monitor (the shades of gray on black...) . I guess I have to make a change too.

A change is welcome, even more when it is a sign of maturity. And that’s what the transformation of BadBoy into Emblematiq seams to me. Good luck Lucian with your new brand!
